310S Stainless Steel Sheet

Description

310S stainless steel sheets is similar to stainless steel 310 apart from a lower content of carbon that reduces carbide precipitation and enhances weldability. The soaring nickel and chromium contents of SS 310S plates offer similar corrosion resistance, higher resistance to oxidation and the holding of a superior portion of room temp potency than the usual austenitic steel such as SS 304. 310S plate is utilized for easiness of fabrication.

Corrosion Resistance of 310S Stainless Steel Plate:

Provides excellent corrosion resistance

High chromium content allows for good aqueous corrosion resistance

Excellent resistance at normal temperatures and also has good resistance to oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres

Heat Resistance of 310S Stainless Steel Plate:

Good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service in air at temperatures up to 1040°C and 1150°C in continuous service.

Good resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating.

Widely used where sulphur dioxide gas is encountered at elevated temperatures.

Properties of Stainless steel 310/310S
An austenitic heat resistant alloy with excellent resistance to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000ºF. Its high chromium and nickel contents provide comparable corrosion resistance, superior resistance to oxidation and the retention of a larger fraction of room temperature strength than the common austenitic alloys like Type 304. Stainless 310 is often used at cryogenic temperatures, with excellent toughness to -450°F, and low magnetic permeability.

As you can see below, Grade 310S is a low carbon version of grade 310. 310S is less prone to embrittlement and sensitization in service.

1.Recommend a heat treatment system: 1030 degrees - 1180 degrees Celsius, quenching;

2.Mechanical properties including tensile strength (1.) : not less than 520; (2.) extension strength: not less than 205; (3) break elongation: not less than 35;

3.Density: 7.98
